ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has set December 31, 2023 as the last date for submission of statements of assets by parliamentarians and members of the provincial assemblies for this fiscal year.
The ECP in a press release issued on Friday drews the attention of the members of the parliament and provincial assemblies to submit to the Commission by 31st of next month yearly statements of Assets and liabilities including their spouse and dependent children.
According to the Elections Act 2017, the Commission, on the first day of January each year, shall publish the names of members who failed to submit the requisite statement of assets and liabilities.
The Commission on January 16, 2024 through an order suspend the membership of a member of an Assembly and Senate who fails to submit the statement of assets.
