RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) has started the process of interviews of potential candidates for the party tickets for provincial and national assembly constituencies for the upcoming general elections scheduled for February 8.
In this connection, the party’s Divisional Coordinator Committee, headed by Senator Pervez Rashid, interviewed candidates for both the provincial and national assemblies seats from Rawalpindi. The committee’s meeting took place at the residence of committee member Tahira Orangzaib.
In attendance at the meeting were PML-N Rawalpindi Division President Malik Abrar, Ataullah Tarar, and Haneef Abbasi.
Interviews for candidates requesting party tickets from five tehsils of Rawalpindi district, including Metropolitan and Cantt areas, were conducted.
Yesterday, the Divisional Coordination Committee interviewed candidates for two national and five provincial seats of Attock.
Later, the Divisional Coordination Committee will submit its proposals to the Central Parliamentary Board of PML-N, which decide the ticket distribution. The committee will complete the interviews of the candidates by November 29.
