COAS, Kuwaiti Crown Prince discuss matters of mutual interest

KUWAIT City: Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir on Wednesday called on Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and held a detailed meeting with him involving discussions on matters of mutual interest.

The Army Chief was accompanied by Minister for Law and Justice and Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Ahmad Irfan Aslam.

The meeting was also attended by Pakistan Ambassador to Kuwait Malik Mohammad Farooq.

Earlier, COAS General Asim Munir arrived in Kuwait, accompanied by a military delegation on an official visit that will last several days.

Upon his arrival, he was received by His Excellency the Chief of General Staff of the Army, Major General Engineer Dr. Ghazi Hassan Al-Shammari, and a number of senior army officers.

Meanwhile, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar and Crown Prince of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah met on Wednesday and agreed to deepen bilateral relationship between their countries in diverse fields.

The prime minister reaffirmed the importance Pakistan attaches to its relationship with Kuwait and reiterated the desire to further expand bilateral cooperation in diverse fields, the PM Office’s media wing said.

PM Kakar underscored the resolve to forge deeper economic engagement between Pakistan and Kuwait-including in trade, energy, information technology, labour, mineral and investments.

The Crown Prince of Kuwait reciprocated the sentiments of the Prime Minister and reiterated the desire of Kuwaiti leadership to further deepen and broaden bilateral relations with Pakistan.
