TikToker sentenced to death in murder case

ISLAMABAD: A TikToker has been sentenced to death by the District and Sessions Courts of Islamabad for the crime of theft and murder on Thursday.

Additional Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra ordered the death penalty for Mohammad Niaz alias Alian, who killed 28-year-old Khurram Akbar in May last year. Alian also stole Akbar’s car and fled the scene.

The court found that Alian had shot Akbar with a 30-bore pistol and then thrown the murder weapon in the bushes near the crime scene. Witnesses identified Alian as the perpetrator of the crime.

In addition to the death sentence, Alian was also sentenced to a fine of five lakh rupees (approximately $3,000) for theft and seven years in prison for stealing Akbar’s car. The case against Alian was registered in Golra police station in May 2022.
