Two coalminers perish, three rescued in rescue operation

DUKKI: Three colliers died and three others were rescued after they were trapped in a coalmine in Dukki district of Balochistan, reported on Friday.

Two miners, Abdullah son of Gulbadin and Bakhtullah son of Taj Muhammad, residents of Afghanistan, lost their lives.

Three miners including Sayed Khan, Rozuddin and Mutiullah were rescued 12 hours after the fire has broken out inside the mine.

Giving details of incident, Inspector Mines Maqsood Ahmed Husni said that miners were stuck at a depth of 3,500 feet in the coal mine.

He said as soon as they got the information, their team reached the affected mine and conducted a successful rescue operation.
