ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson on Monday lambasted the caretaker Federal Minister for Information Murtaza Solangi for his “nonsensical and absurd” remarks about PTI’s intra-party polls, saying that his statement put a stamp on his prejudiced and biased character.
In a strong-worded reaction, PTI spokesperson said that the caretaker government’s only constitutional responsibility was to conduct free, fair and transparent elections within the constitutionally defined deadline.
The spokesperson said that Information Minister’s slanderous statement had exposed “neutrality of the caretaker regime”, adding that the PTI was the only political party that buried the traditional hereditary and dynastic politics by introducing new and capable faces into the political landscape of the country.
However, he contended that it was shocking to note that the current interim regime had completely failed in performing its due constitutional responsibilities, thus it became an “unconstitutional” and “illegal”.
PTI spokesperson noted that Solangi did not have any constitutional and moral justification to give statement against internal affairs of any political party, adding that his statement questioning PTI intra-party election testified his bias.
He underlined that PTI was the only political parties championing the constitution and democracy in the country that completely rejected the concept of heredity and dynastic politics and introduced capable and new faces into the political arena of the country.
PTI spokesperson pointed out that the caretaker government after providing all-out support to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) at every step to keep PTI out of the election process, the caretaker government was now resorting to such a shameful game to sabotage the PTI’s intra-party elections.
He went on to say that the elements, who were playing key role to deprive PTI of level playing, should be ashamed for giving statements based on lies and accusations.
PTI spokesperson advised that the unconstitutional Information Minister mere focused on nonsense rhetoric, accusations and distortion of facts since assuming the office instead of performing his constitutional role.
He recalled that the caretaker government failed miserably at every level ranging from holding general elections on constitutionally mandated timeframe to providing level playing fields to political parties for the forthcoming general elections.
PTI spokesperson asked Solangi that he should look at his duties assigned to the caretaker government in the constitution and try to implement them instead of teaching PTI the lesson of democracy.
