Former foreign secretary Riaz Khokhar passes away

ISLAMABAD: Former foreign secretary Riaz Khokhar passes away on Tuesday after prolonged illness.

The deceased served as Pakistan’s ambassador to China, India and the United States and was undergoing treatment since long due to health issues.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Sherry Rehman has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of Riaz Khokhar.

She said that late Riaz Khokhar always supported a developed Pakistan and remained ready to share his intellectual views in this connection.

Sherry Rehman prayed for the departed soul in eternal peace and courage for the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.

Caretaker Minister for Information, Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs, Murtaza Solangi has also expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of former Foreign Secretary Riaz Khokhar.

In a condolence statement on Tuesday, he expressed sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for departed soul to rest in peace.

Murtaza Solangi paid rich tribute to the former foreign secretary on his diplomatic services for the country, which will always be remembered.
