Lahore police arrest over 900 in city-wide operation against encroachments

LAHORE: Lahore Police, in collaboration with the district administration, has launched a comprehensive operation against encroachments, leading to the arrest of over 900 individuals and the registration of 218 cases across the city’s six divisions.

According to Police spokesperson, CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamiana led the charge, detailing the operation’s progress. He stated that while 29 cases and 216 arrests were made in City Division, Cantt Division followed closely with 29 cases and 231 arrests. Civil Lines, Sadar, Iqbal Town, and Model Town also saw significant action, with the respective tallies reflecting the widespread nature of the issue.

CCPO Kamiana emphasized the Lahore Police’s unwavering support for the district government’s initiative, assuring citizens that the operation would continue unabated until the city is rid of unauthorized encroachments. He stressed the detrimental impact of these encroachments on both public well-being and the city’s aesthetic appeal, highlighting the disruption they cause to traffic flow and overall urban beauty.

Appealing to residents’ sense of civic responsibility, the CCPO urged them to refrain from engaging in any form of encroachment. He assured citizens that eliminating these obstacles would significantly improve traffic flow and contribute to a more pleasant and vibrant urban environment for all.
