ECP releases revised schedule for PK-91 Kohat

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday unveiled a revised election schedule for PK-91 Kohat following the invalidation of the Returning Officer (RO) by the Peshawar High Court, a decision subsequently upheld by the Supreme Court.

According to the updated timeline, the scanning of nomination papers for this constituency will continue until January 5, with the window for filing appeals against rejections open until January 9.

The Appellate Tribunal is slated to adjudicate on these appeals on January 16. Candidates, in turn, have the option to withdraw their nomination papers until January 18. Finally, the Election Commission is scheduled to allocate election symbols to candidates on January 19. This adjusted schedule aims to accommodate the legal developments arising from the Peshawar High Court’s decision regarding the RO, ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process for PK-91 Kohat.
