LAHORE: The Punjab Counter-Terrorism Department on Saturday claimed to have arrested seven terrorists including three key operatives of the proscribed Tehreek-Taliban Pakistan.
The arrests were made during various intelligence-based operations carried out in various cities of Punjab.
According to the Punjab CTD spokesperson, the IBOs were conducted in Lahore, Kasur, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, and Bahawalnagar in which seven militants were captured. Three key activists of the banned outfit TTP are among the arrested suspects, he added.
The arrested terrorists were identified: as Khan Zaman, Shah Muhammad, Abid, Khalid Mehmood, Azeem, Ahmad Shah, and Noor.
According to the spokesperson, the militants were planning an attack on the law enforcement institutions.
The spokesman said that the CTD also recovered explosive material, one IED (bomb), two safety fuses, Prima cards, mobile phones, and cash from the possession of the militants.
