Caretaker Balochistan minister claims 2,000 ‘ghost’ teachers drawing salaries

QUETTA: About two thousand teachers of provincial Education Department have been drawing salaries while sitting abroad. These teachers have neither obtained no objection certificate no applied of Ex-Pakistan Leave.

This revelation was made by caretaker Minister for Education, Qadir Bakhsh while talking to PPI here on Sunday. He said that strict disciplinary action against ghost teachers of the provincial education department, including two thousand teachers sitting abroad, would be taken.

PPI contacted Yousaf Kakar, President, Balochistan Junior Teachers Association to express his views about the absence of two thousand teachers from their duties, he said that the revelation of caretaker Minister for Education Balochistan was correct as most of the teachers of provincial educational department did not perform their duties by using the names of teacher unions.

On the other hand, Habibur Rehman Mardanzai, Chairman, Government Teachers Association said that teachers had proceeded abroad after seeking no objection certificate and ex-Pakistan leave from the competent authorities. Refuting the claim of Caretaker Minister for Education, Mardanzai said that caretaker Minister for Education should name 10 teachers who have proceeded abroad.
