LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Wednesday challenged the decision of rejection of nomination papers by the appellate tribunals in the Lahore high Court (LHC) while the party founder’s legal team is preparing to move the court.
The PTI founder’s team announced that it would appeal against the decision of returning officer who rejected his papers from National Assembly constituency NA-122 which was dismissed by the appellate tribunal.
Justice Tariq Nadeem announced his decision reserved on Tuesday and upheld the verdict of the returning officer.
Meanwhile, PTI vice chairman and former foreign minister Qureshi on Wednesday challenged rejection of his nomination papers from three constituencies by a tribunal.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Ali Baqar Najafi will hear the plea.
It may be recalled that Qureshi’s papers from Punjab Assembly constituency PP-218, and National Assembly constituencies NA-150 and -151 were rejected.
