LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) has officially granted an election ticket to Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal, who is the father-in-law of Farah Gogi, a close friend of former First Lady Bushra Bibi.
Media reports suggest that Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal previously served as a member of the Punjab Assembly on the PML-N ticket. In the 2018 elections, he faced defeat against Chaudhry Parvez Elahi in the race for the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly.
As part of its preparations for the upcoming general elections, the PML-N has unveiled its candidates for constituencies in Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Talagang.
Key candidates announced include Osama Sarwar Abbasi for National Assembly Constituency NA-51, Bilal Yamin Sati for Provincial Assembly Constituency PP-6, and Raja Sagheer Ahmed for PP-7 – all running on the PML-N ticket.
Further nominations include Javed Ikhlas for NA-52, Raja Qamar Islam for NA-53, Malik Abrar for NA-55, and Hanif Abbasi for NA-56. Additionally, Daniyal Chaudhry is set to contest from NA-57, and N. Major (retd) Tahir Iqbal has secured the ticket for NA-58, while Sardar Ghulam Abbas is the PML-N candidate for NA-59.
The PML-N has also finalized its choices for various provincial assembly seats, with candidates like Hameed Akhtar for PP-3, Sher Ali Khan for PP-4, Malik Pravi Khan for PP-5, Muhammad Bilal Yasin for PP-6, Raja Saghir Ahmad for PP-7, and others.
This move signals the party’s strategic lineup for the upcoming elections, bringing experienced figures and fresh faces into the political fray.
