The recent attack on a passenger bus in the Chillas area of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) has shaken the local community, and raised concerns about the safety and security of those using the region’s transport services. GB is known for its beauty and peace.
However, terrorist attacks in the past have damaged the sanctity of the region, and cast a dark shadow over the massive tourism potential of the region. The local and federal authorities should collaborate, and implement enhanced security measures in the region by increasing the number of security personnel, and conducting regular patrols and comprehensive screening procedures.
