Onion prices exceed Rs300 per kg

LAHORE: A trend of rising onion prices persists throughout the country, with the cost per kilogram surpassing Rs 300.

In the current week, the price of onions has reached Rs 320 per kilogram, leaving residents of Islamabad grappling with the burden of purchasing the essential vegetable.

As per reports, the cost of onions per kilogram stands at Rs 320 in Islamabad, Rs 310 in Rawalpindi, Rs 280 in Peshawar, and Rs 270 in Sialkot.
Meanwhile, in Karachi, Lahore, and Gujranwala, the price has reached up to Rs 240 per kilogram. In Faisalabad, Sargodha, Multan, and Bahawalpur, onions are being sold at Rs 220 per kilogram.

In Quetta, Sukkur, and Larkana, the price remains constant at Rs 220 per kilogram, while in Khuzdar, it is Rs 250. Hyderabad and Bannu witness the lowest rates at Rs 200 per kilogram.

It is noteworthy that the previous week recorded the maximum onion price at Rs 260 per kilogram.
