At least two injured in grenade attack in Waziristan’s Wana

LOWER WANA: At least two bystanders sustained injuries after a grenade attack near a police official’s car in Lower Wanna town of South Waziristan district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday, police said.

According to police, SHO Wana police station Raza Ullah was travelling on Bypass Road in his vehicle when the explosion occurred.

The attack came ahead of the election 2024 that has seen rising terror attacks across the country.

Earlier today, at least 10 officers were martyred and six wounded when terrorists attacked a police station in KP’s Dera Ismail Khan in the wee hours.

“More than 30 terrorists launched an attack from three directions. There was an exchange of fire for over two and a half hours,” KP police chief Akhtar Hayat Gandapur told media.

Meanwhile, the police said that SHO escaped the Wana blast without sustaining injuries, however, two bystanders were injured in the explosion, they said.

The police moved the injured to the District Health Headquarters while a search operation was initiated in the surrounding areas.
