ISLAMABAD: On Kashmir Solidarity Day, leaders from Pakistan and around the world joined hands in a collective display of support for the rights and aspirations of the Kashmiri people, emphasizing the urgent need for a just resolution to the ongoing conflict.
President Dr Arif Alvi, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, and the country’s top military officials issued a resounding pledge to continue extending unwavering moral, diplomatic, and political support for a just solution to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute. President Alvi, in his message, lamented the 76-year struggle of the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir for self-determination. The leadership condemned India’s militarization and efforts to engineer demographic and political changes in the region.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari highlighted the significance of the upcoming Feb 8 polls as a crucial step toward ending atrocities in Kashmir. He stressed the imperative of national unity for the Kashmir cause and drew parallels to the vision of Pakistan’s founder, Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Bilawal paid tribute to PPP’s historical commitment and pledged to actively promote the Kashmir cause globally, expressing deep respect for the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs.
Separately, leaders of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter thanked Pakistan for its unwavering support in the pursuit of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination. Despite ongoing tensions, APHC leaders acknowledged Pakistan’s consistent political, diplomatic, and moral support. The leaders expressed gratitude to the people of Pakistan for continuous solidarity and called for intensified commitment to advocacy for the Kashmir cause on all global forums.
Additionally, Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, added his voice to the global chorus, expressing solidarity with Kashmiri Muslims on social media. His message on Kashmir Solidarity Day underscored the importance of standing together with the people of Kashmir in their quest for justice and freedom.
