PTI-backed ‘winner’ among eight independent candidates join PML-N

LAHORE: Amid the twists and turns of politics, PTI-backed independent candidate from NA-121 Lahore announced joining the PML-N besides seven other newly-‘elected’ independent candidates of National and Punjab assemblies also joined the party.

According to a video and statement posted on PML-N’s social media account Waseem Qadir, who defeated PML-N stalwart Rohail Asghar in NA-121 (Lahore-V), held a meeting with the Maryam Nawaz in Lahore.

On the occasion, Qadir, who served as the General Secretary of PTI Lahore, expressing full trust and confidence in the leadership of PML-N’s supremo Nawaz Sharif and announced joining the party.

In a meeting with Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the senior vice president of PML-N, Wasim Qadir discussed his decision to align with the party and shared vision for the constituency.

Wasim Qadir, addressing the media in Lahore, conveyed his decision to join PML-N was a result of extensive consultations with the local populace and allies.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif welcomed Wasim Qadir into the PML-N, expressing gratitude for his decision.

Meanwhile, newly-‘elected’ seven independent candidates of National and Provincial Assemblies joined Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Independent candidates Raja Khurram Nawaz from NA-48, Barrister Aqeel Malik from NA-54, Pir Zahoor Hussain Qureshi from NA-146, Sardar Shamshir Mazari from NA-189 and Barrister Mian Khan Bugti from NA-253 announced joining the PML-N.

Similarly, Khurram Virk from PP-48 and Sohail Khan from PP-240 Bahawalnagar also joined the PML-N.

Barrister Aqeel in a video message congratulated his supporters and said his seat belonged to Nawaz Sharif, adding, “I congratulate our leadership Mian Nawaz Sharif, Mian Shehbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz.”

Raja Khurram Nawaz said he joined the PMLN for the stability of Pakistan and said he would be the part of the new government.

Mian Khan Bugti said, “Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif congratulated me on the success, after which I joined the Muslim League (N).”

Sardar Shamshir Mazari said, “I decided to join Muslim League (Nawaz) after consulting with my workers and friends.”
