MQM-P Hafeezuddin’s victory challenged in court

KARACHI: Electoral controversy unfolds in NA-245 Karachi, with the success of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) candidate Hafeezuddin now facing a legal challenge in the Sindh High Court (SHC).

Independent candidate Attaullah filed a petition against the “irregularities” in election results, claiming success in the constituency with 38,000 votes as per Form 45.

Attaullah said that Hafeezuddin had secured only 15,000, alleging that the results were changed in Form 47 and fourth-numbered candidate Hafeezuddin was declared successful. Form 47 should be declared null and void,” the petitioner requested.
