Pakistani internet influencer embraces Spring Festival in China

BEIJING: Usman Khan, a Pakistani diplomatic correspondent and internet influencer who is studying at a Chinese University is undergoing a memorable experience as he celebrates the Chinese Spring Festival, also known as the Lunar New Year in China.

He has participated in various Spring Festival activities, such as making dumplings, watching dragon and lion dances, and setting off fireworks. “Spending the period of the Spring Festival in China was an incredible experience,” he said.

“It was an honor to celebrate with my Chinese friends and learn more about their culture and traditions. The festival was a vibrant display of colors, sounds, and joy, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have been part of it.”

According to a report carried by Gwadar Pro on Monday, during his stay, Usman Khan visited various Chinese cities, including Shenzhen, Chongqing and Chengdu to gain a deeper understanding of Chinese history and culture.

While experiencing the vibrant juxtaposition of ancient traditions and modern advancements, he was impressed by the hospitality shown by the Chinese people.

“They invited me to dinner, took me to their homes to meet their families and feel the atmosphere of family reunion and happiness during the Spring Festival.”

During Chunyun, the annual Spring Festival travel rush in China, he also had the opportunity to witness the remarkable efficiency and speed of China’s high-speed trains.

He boarded one of these trains, amazed by the comfortable seating, modern facilities, and the breathtaking speed at which the train traveled. He exclaimed, “the speed and efficiency were unbelievable.

It only took me less than 2 hours to get from Chongqing to Chengdu, two cities in southwestern China around 300km apart. The comfort and convenience of these trains made the journey smooth and enjoyable.”

Usman Khan has been actively promoting cross-cultural understanding between Pakistan and China since 2015 through social media platforms, including TikTok, WeChat, X, etc.

He chose to spend the festive period in China to immerse himself in the rich cultural traditions and celebrate with his Chinese peers.

His celebration of the Spring Festival garnered a lot of attention on social media as he shared photos and videos of his experiences with his followers.

The Pakistani diplomatic correspondent, by highlighting the beauty and uniqueness of Chinese culture, aims to inspire many to further explore and appreciate the rich traditions of both countries.
