ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court on Tuesday barred the FIA from harassing Aleema Khan, ordering the agency that any complaints or inquiries against her should be reported to her directly.
IHC Chief Justice Amir Farooq issued the orders while hearing a plea filed by Aleema Khanum, the sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, against notices issued to her by the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) cybercrime and anti-terrorism wing.
During the proceedings, the High Court prohibited any disciplinary actions against Khan’s sister without due process.
The IHC directed that any reports related to complaints or inquiries by the FIA be provided to her. Furthermore, the court prohibited any disciplinary action against Aleema Khan by the FIA. Aleema Khan’s lawyer emphasized that there is no evidence to suggest her involvement in any cybercrime.
The IHC Chief Justice instructed the FIA to furnish details regarding any inquiries or complaints against Aleema Khan promptly. Additionally, he urged the FIA to refrain from causing any distress to her while awaiting the submission of their reply. The court adjourned the hearing of the case for a later date.
