13 tourists’ facilitation centres set up in Murree to help tourists

MURREE: As many as 13 tourist facilitation centres have been established at various places to help tourists visiting Murree, Galyat, and surrounding areas, according to the district administration.

He said that the district administration has urged tourists to get weather updates and traffic-related information before travelling to the area. It has also advised tourists to take all due precautions in Murree, Galyat, and surrounding areas.

On Saturday, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority in Punjab alerted all relevant departments in the above mentioned areas amid the likely heavy snowfall in the regions on Sunday and Monday.

Tourists were being given information about weather updates and travel advisories at all entry points of Murree, the spokesperson said and added that strict action was being taken against parking rules violators.

A special control room has been set up to facilitate the people, particularly tourists. In case of any difficulty, the tourists could get help and guidance from the tourist facilitation centres.

The tourists could contact Emergency Service, Rescue-1122, Tourism Helpline-1421, or PDMA Helpline-1129 in case of emergency, according to the spokesperson.

He added that machinery and human resources were being used to remove snow from the roads.

In case of any emergency, the Punjab emergency service, Rescue 1122 could be contacted while the tourists could also use Tourism Helpline-1421, and PDMA Helpline-1129.

The tourists should check the vehicles thoroughly before leaving for the journey, the spokesperson said and advised them to keep the necessary items in view of the snowfall.

He advised the tourists that in case of any emergency, PDMA helpline 1129 could be contacted.
