KARACHI: At least two people were killed and eight injured in firing incidents across the city of Karachi in early hours of Saturday.
In one incident, a young girl lost her life while her aunt was injured in a shooting in Korangi Town located in Karachi.
According to the police, the injured woman was shifted to a local hospital for treatment.
Similarly, firing by unknown assailants near a flyover claimed the life of one brother and left another injured.
In unrelated case in Surjani Town, two brothers were also injured after armed attackers opened fire on them. The police are currently investigating both incidents.
Multiple reports of shootouts were also reported in different parts of Karachi, including Orangi Town, Manghopir in New Karachi, and Jamshed Road, leaving three people injured.
A shooting near Muhammad Shah graveyard also left one person injured. According to law enforcement offices, the injured was transported to hospital to tend to their injuries.
Police encounters with reported criminals
An alleged police encounter near China Port led to the arrest of a suspect in an injured state. As per police sources, weapons and a motorcycle were recovered from the accused.
Separately, in a private housing society Steel Town, an alleged police encounter with two criminals led to arrest of the accused in injured state. As per the law enforcers, weapons, stolen cellular phones and motorcycle were taken from the accused.
