KARACHI: In a move aimed at enhancing security measures across the province, newly sworn-in Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has wasted no time in taking significant steps. Chairing a high-level meeting to review the security situation, CM Murad Shah has imposed a ban on the use of police flashlights on private vehicles. This directive comes as part of a broader strategy to streamline law enforcement practices and ensure the effective utilization of resources.
Under the new regulation, only police patrolling vehicles will be permitted to utilize flashlights, with private vehicles prohibited from doing so. CM Murad Shah emphasized the need to curtail the display of weapons by security guards traveling in private vehicles, stressing the importance of maintaining public safety and order.
Furthermore, CM Shah has allocated a substantial sum of Rs2 billion for the construction of 708 police stations across the province. Emphasizing transparency and accountability, he has directed that these funds be utilized efficiently, with a focus on ensuring the optimal structural design of police station buildings.
In tandem with these security measures, CM Murad Shah has also assumed office, marking his third consecutive term as Sindh’s Chief Minister. Arriving at the Chief Minister’s House early in the morning, he was accorded a guard of honor before commencing his duties. Holding meetings with key officials including the chief secretary and IG Sindh, CM Shah reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining law and order throughout the province.
Having previously served as Sindh’s chief minister from 2016 to 2018 and then from 2018 to 2023, CM Murad Ali Shah brings a wealth of experience to his role. A civil engineer by profession, he has held various ministerial positions within the provincial government, demonstrating a deep-rooted dedication to public service.
