LAHORE: Pakistan’s political landscape is taking shape as the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) reportedly plans to include the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in its government formation.
Sources suggest MQM might secure the governorship of Sindh province alongside two to three ministries in the federal cabinet.
Aiming for a leaner cabinet, the PML-N reportedly intends to limit the number of ministers to around 20. If this figure holds, MQM could potentially receive two ministerial positions.
While details remain unconfirmed, sources speculate MQM may be offered the Ministry of Maritime Affairs. However, the Ministry of Information Technology is believed to be off the table for the party.
Internal discussions within MQM suggest two potential candidates for the coveted position of Sindh governor. One group reportedly favors Kamran Tesori, while another advocates for Khushbakht Shujaat.
It is crucial to note that these are unofficial reports based on unnamed sources. Official confirmation and details regarding the final power-sharing agreement between PML-N and MQM are still awaited.
