Global leaders congratulate PM Shehbaz, emphasize bilateral relations

In a wave of diplomatic gestures, several friendly nations have extended warm congratulations to Pakistan’s newly elected Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, underscoring the significance of bilateral relations and the mutual pursuit of prosperity and development.

China, a longstanding ally and strategic partner of Pakistan, has expressed sincere congratulations to PM Shehbaz Sharif on his ascension to office. The spokesperson of China’s foreign office, Mao Ning, highlighted the importance of Shehbaz Sharif’s positive stance on the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the deepening Sino-Pak relationship. During a press briefing, Ning reiterated China’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s journey towards development and prosperity under the leadership of PM Shehbaz Sharif.

The felicitations extended by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim underscore the bonds of friendship and cooperation shared between Pakistan and these nations. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman conveyed his best wishes for PM Shehbaz Sharif’s success and Pakistan’s continued progress. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim emphasized the enduring brotherly ties between Pakistan and Malaysia and expressed eagerness to further strengthen bilateral trade and diplomatic relations.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkiye reached out to PM Shehbaz Sharif to congratulate him on his reelection. Erdogan emphasized the potential for deepening and expanding the relations between Turkiye and Pakistan during Shehbaz Sharif’s tenure. The telephonic conversation between the two leaders also touched upon regional and global issues of mutual interest, reflecting the shared commitment to addressing common challenges.

In a separate conversation with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, PM Shehbaz Sharif affirmed Pakistan’s eagerness to enhance trade and diplomatic relations with Malaysia. Acknowledging the longstanding brotherly relationship between the two nations, PM Shehbaz extended an invitation to his Malaysian counterpart to visit Pakistan, further underscoring the commitment to fostering stronger ties and mutual cooperation.
