Student dies after teacher’s alleged brutality in Sargodha

SARGODHA: A class IX student in Sargodha has tragically died after allegedly being tortured by a school teacher. The incident has sparked outrage and raised concerns about corporal punishment in educational institutions.

According to police reports, Samiullah, a student at a private school, was severely beaten with a stick by his teacher for failing to recall a lesson. The beating reportedly resulted in a spinal cord injury.

Samiullah was initially admitted to a Sargodha hospital, but due to the seriousness of his injury, he was transferred to Allied Hospital in Faisalabad. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries.

Police have confirmed that the incident occurred two days prior to the student’s death. He was reportedly residing in the school hostel at the time of the assault.

Authorities have registered a case against the teacher, who is currently absconding. Police raids are underway to apprehend the suspect.

This horrifying incident underscores the need for stricter regulations against corporal punishment in schools and emphasizes the importance of ensuring student safety within educational institutions.
