Anwar Maqsood denies reports of ‘abduction and torture’

LAHORE: Anwar Maqsood, Pakistan’s legendary scriptwriter, host, satirist, and humorist, has rejected the reports that he was abducted, tortured, and threatened by unknown men a few days ago.

Several social media posts had surfaced in recent days, asserting that Maqsood had been subjected to abduction and mistreatment, sparking concerns among his fans and followers.

Reacting to the reports, the renowned artist mentioned that the news circulating on social media regarding him is unfounded.

Describing it as “fake news,” Maqsood advised his fans to disregard the baseless claims. He clarified that he does not have any social media accounts, nor does he follow social media.

The screenwriter also shared that people informed him about the reports through phone calls. He emphasized that he refutes all such news and criticizes those who spread unverified information.

His son, Bilal Maqsood, took to his social media and also cleared up the rumors about his father, Anwar Maqsood, being abducted. He said that there is nothing to worry about, as this is all fake news.
