Chairman IRSA appointment: PM takes notice of concerns of Sindh govt

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has taken the notice of concerns of Sindh government regarding appointment of Chairman Indus River System Authority (IRSA).

Sindh Minister for Irrigation, Jam Khan Shoro stated on Thursday that Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah held a telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and informed him about objections of provincial government on appointment of chairman IRSA.

Premier Shehbaz Sharif has assured to withdraw the notification of the appointment of Chairman IRSA.

Meanwhile, talking to media persons, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that formation of IRSA was aimed that there should be no influence of the federation in it.

He said that during interim government, an ordinance came which was amended that a representative of federal would be member of IRSA. He further said that the PML-N government constituted a water agreement.
