RAWALPINDI: Punjab Council of the Arts (PAC) on Thursday organized a painting exhibition titled “Sohna Punjab” in connection with Punjab Culture Day 2024.
Member Provincial Assembly of Punjab & Coordinator Chief Minister Punjab, Shazia Rizwan who was the Chief Guest of the opening ceremony while addressing the participants said that the civilization and culture of Punjab was famous all over the world for its beauty and charm.
She said, “Any region is identified by its culture. Living nations are always proud of their culture and traditions and contribute to their development. The need is that instead of giving only one day in a year to culture, we should be proud of our culture throughout the year.”
Shazia Rizwan further said that Punjab’s culture, festivals, food, clothes and ancient places have thousands of colors. We were the trustees of the high thoughts and actions of our forefathers, which is our responsibility to keep alive, this is the day of determination to dedicate our energies for the development, safety and uplifting of the country, she added.
The MPA said that no matter which part of Pakistan we belong to, we are Pakistanis, the land of Punjab was the inheritor of great civilizations, which we were proud to present to the world. On the arrival of the Arts Council, the chief guest was also given a “Chunri”.
Director Muhammad Shakoor said that civilization and culture are the mirror of any nation. Cultural values are a beacon for the bright future of nations. The flowers of peace and security bloom in the society with the promotion of positive cultural values.
Assistant Director Muhammad Sulaiman said that the only nations in the world are called alive and advanced which are civilized. A society is successful and prosperous if its culture is sustainable. Only a country can develop which has a living culture and a positive culture in its roots. The same society can become the cradle of peace where positive civilization and culture are flourishing in the true sense.
Khurram Babri and Muhammad Yunus Rumi’s artworks were displayed in the exhibition. A large number of people from the twin cities participated in the exhibition.
