CM Maryam announces housing scheme for low-income earners

LAHORE: The Punjab government under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a new housing scheme aimed at providing affordable housing for low-income residents.

The initiative, targeting the construction of 100,000 houses across the province, was a significant step towards addressing the housing needs of vulnerable communities.

A recent review meeting led by the Chief Minister discussed the project’s progress. The Board of Revenue presented a list of 17 potential sites for development, which will undergo further evaluation.

Recognizing the urgency of the project, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed officials to expedite site selection in five major cities: Multan, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Sargodha, and Rawalpindi.

Emphasizing the importance of accessibility, she stressed the need to choose locations convenient for residents. “The house is the basic need of every family,” stated Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, highlighting the government’s commitment to fulfilling the dream of homeownership for low-income earners.

This project signifies a major investment in Punjab’s social infrastructure and is expected to benefit a significant portion of the population. Further announcements regarding the final site selections and application process are anticipated in the coming weeks.
