PESHAWAR/LAHORE: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Adviser on Information Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif on Sunday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is not satisfied with the treatment provided by Punjab government to party President Pervaiz Elahi.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, he talked about the reported accident of former Punjab chief minister Pervaiz Elahi. It has been reported that the PTI leader suffered injuries after falling on the ground in Adiala Jail.
Barrister Saif said the PTI leadership wanted to know facts about whether Pervaiz Elahi had an accident or he was tortured.
A team of doctors from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should be permitted to visit him in jail and examine his condition, he demanded.
The Advisor said that if the medical team was not allowed to see Pervaiz Elahi, the government would take legal action.
On March 19, medical report of Ch Pervaiz Elahi was presented in the Punjab Assembly by the deputy superintendent of Adiala Jail.
The report, which included an X-ray, revealed that the septuagenarian leader had four ribs fractured after falling in the washroom.
Meanwhile, Punjab Minister for Information Azma Bokhari responded strongly to the statement of Barrister Saif, saying the KP adviser should study the report of the Adiala Jail officials before levelling allegations against CM Maryam Nawaz.
“According to the officials of Adiyala Jail, Pervaiz Elahi fell in the washroom and got injured. You should get your own Chief Minister treated who is suggesting the officers to throw bricks instead of getting treatment of Pervaiz Elahi”, Azma Bokhari stated in a statement, responding to barrister Saif.
“Ch Pervaiz Elahi’s son has no worry about his father. The Tonga Party has made a habit of levelling allegations of their every crime on Maryam Nawaz. Maryam Nawaz is too much busy and has no spare time to monitor the activities of every worker of Tonga Party”, the provincial minister criticised.
Azma Bokhari further stated that Maryam Nawaz was focusing attention on serving the masses and did not care for the allegations of the opponents. “May it be Ali Amin Gandapur or Barrister Saif, everyone falls into the footsteps of their founder of PTI. They play the politics of baseless allegations like their leader,” she added.
