ATC puts off Imran’s bail in arson case till tomorrow; grants bails to Aliya Hamza, Sanam Javed

LAHORE: The Anti-Terrorism court (ATC) Lahore postponed hearing on the bail plea of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in arson and three other cases till Thursday (tomorrow) and granted bails to Aliya Hamza Malik, Sanam Javed and Ayesha Bhutta in the Shadman Police Station attack case.

ATC Judge Arshad Javed heard the bail plea of Imran Khan in arson and three other cases. The court directed to make the complete arrangements for marking the video link attendance of the PTI founder. During the hearing, the counsel for the former prime minister pleaded with the court to postpone the hearing.

Later, the court asked the lawyers for arguments and adjourned the hearing till March 28.

Bail plea of Aliya Hamza, Sanam Javed approved

Meanwhile, the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) approved the bail plea of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) leaders – Aliya Hamza Malik and Sanam Javed in the Shadman Police Station attack case of May 9 event.

Judge Arshad Javed heard the bail pleas of both the PTI leaders along with nine other cases of May 9 violent events.

During the hearing, prosecutor stated that the women were part of the conspiracy against state in May 9 incidents. He pleaded with the court to not grant bail to the accused women.

The court after hearing argument from both the prosecution and the defence, approved the the bail pleas of both PTI leaders.
