KP extends Peshawar BRT’s service hours for Eid

PESHAWAR: The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to extend the operating hours of BRT buses in Peshawar to make commuting easier for residents. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur personally directed that the BRT service should run until midnight.

With Eid-ul-Fitr approaching, Peshawar experiences a significant increase in people using BRT buses. Since markets stay open late to accommodate Eid shoppers, citizens continue visiting them even late at night.

Starting immediately, BRT buses will operate until midnight instead of the usual 10 pm cutoff time on regular days.

To help with Eid shopping, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur stressed the need for the service extension. As a result, BRT buses from Chamkani to factories will run until midnight.

BRT Peshawar is considered a successful mass transit project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and has received international recognition. Its approach includes special buses on the main corridor and feeder routes across the city, ensuring accessibility for residents from all parts of Peshawar.

Reports suggest that hundreds of thousands of passengers use the BRT bus service daily, highlighting its vital role in the city’s transportation system.
