KP advises autonomous bodies against keeping revenue in bank accounts

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has advised the autonomous bodies against maintaining bank accounts for their revenue, directing them to deposit their revenue into the provincial government’s Central Account IV.

According to the officials, the provincial government has initiated plans to utilise the funds of these bodies to meet its own expenditures.

The Finance Department has strictly directed all administrative departments and autonomous bodies to refrain from keeping their revenue in bank accounts. “All administrative departments and autonomous sub-ordinate bodies have been directed to deposit their revenue into the provincial government’s Central Account IV,” the officials informed.

According to sources, institutions that are legally permitted to maintain bank accounts for their revenue will be exempt from this restriction.

The provincial government is striving to consolidate its resources by collecting funds. Previously, there had been attempts to gather all funds into Account IV, but these efforts were remained futile due to resistance from autonomous bodies. The government is now making another attempt to achieve this goal.
