Saba Qamar and Nauman Ijaz’s ‘Mrs and Mr Shameem’ finally available for Pakistani viewers two years after release

Naumaan Ijaz and Saba Qamar’s original series “Mrs & Mr Shameem,” previously exclusive to the Indian-owned Zindagi website, will premiere on the platform’s YouTube channel on April 26 at 7:30 pm.

The decision to air the show on YouTube comes nearly two years after its initial broadcast, making it accessible to viewers in Pakistan. “Mrs & Mr Shameem” garnered acclaim for its bold narrative challenging societal norms and redefining perceptions of love and masculinity. Following the success of “Abdullahpur Ka Devdas,” it becomes the second original series to debut on Zindagi’s YouTube channel.

In a landscape dominated by conventional romance and gender roles, “Mrs & Mr Shameem” offers a refreshing perspective. Through the characters of Shameem, played by Ijaz, and Umaina (Saba Qamar), the series explores a love story that transcends boundaries and defies stereotypes.

With 20 episodes in total, the series will premiere every Tuesday and Friday at 7:30 pm, starting April 26.

Expressing her excitement, Saba Qamar shared, “Portraying Umaina in ‘Mrs & Mr Shameem’ has been an enriching experience. I delved into her character, empathizing with her struggles and admiring her free-spirited nature. This series fearlessly challenges societal norms, emphasizing the true essence of love and marriage. I am proud to be a part of it and thrilled that it will now reach a global audience through Zindagi’s YouTube channel.”

Directed by Kashif Nisar, known for works like “Dumpukht Aatish E Ishq” and “O Rangreza,” “Mrs & Mr Shameem” is produced by Nisar and Misbah Shafique, with the script penned by contemporary writer Sajjad Gul.
