KP to grant 2% tax relief on credit card payments at hotels, restaurants

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to introduce transparency in the tax system and encourage taxpayers to channel their payments through credit cards instead of cash to ensure the transfer of taxes to the government treasury.

As per directives issued by the Provincial Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, all administrative departments are instructed to establish a scrutiny committee at the departmental level to conduct preliminary assessments before proposing new projects. The timelines for these committees will be notified by the respective departments.

Each committee will evaluate proposals based on merit and alignment with sector plans, ensuring compliance with development programme policy principles. It is mandated to include relevant development professionals, with at least one female member required. After scrutiny, proposals will be forwarded to the Planning and Development Department following the preparation of PC-1.

The initiative aims to enhance transparency and efficiency in the project selection process, ensuring that only viable and impactful projects are pursued for the benefit of the province.

The P&D Department has directed all relevant authorities to adhere to the revised guidelines and implement them effectively to streamline the project approval process and promote sustainable development across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
