Dirty streets in Karachi

I recently returned to Karachi from Lahore after Eid holidays, and was sad to notice the difference between the two cities in terms of cleanliness. It was disappointing to see that no attempts had been made to clean the city and remove garbage during the holidays. In contrast, the waste management company in Lahore had launched a special cleanliness operation to keep the city clean during the holidays. Why does the city government in Karachi treat the people with such contempt? We deserve to walk the streets without having to be confronted with garbage and filth.
