KP govt declares scrutiny committees mandatory to propose new projects

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has mandated the formation of a scrutiny committee in each department to propose new projects.

The authorities said each committee must include at least one female officer, with the option to include additional women. Directives issued by the Planning and Development Department require all administrative departments to establish a scrutiny committee at the departmental level for preliminary project evaluation. Timelines for these committees will be set by the respective departments.

The committee will assess each proposal based on merit and its alignment with sector plans outlined by the department, in accordance with development program policy principles.

The composition of the committee must include relevant development professionals, with at least one female member as a requirement. Once scrutinized, proposals will be forwarded to the Planning and Development Department following the preparation of PC-1.
