As viewers bid farewell to the captivating love saga of Shahmeer and Shibra in the latest installment of “Ishq Murshid,” writer Abdul Khaliq Khan unveiled plans to extend the series for two more seasons.
In a recent interview on Sal Ahmed’s YouTube channel, Khan disclosed his vision for the future of the show. “I have three stories in mind for this series,” he revealed. “The first one, which you’ve already seen, is about a boy overcoming obstacles for his true love. The next will delve into the trials faced by a boy for a close blood relation. And the final story will explore a love that transcends all else – a journey where love for Allah surpasses everything.”
Delving into his creative process, Khan emphasized the importance of being deeply invested in his characters to authentically portray their stories. Characters like Shahmeer/Fazal and Shibra, portrayed by Bilal Abbas and Durefishan Saleem, captivated Khan, serving as the heart of the show.
“They are the essence of the series,” Khan asserted, expressing gratitude for the viewers’ appreciation of his narrative. “I am delighted that fans have embraced the story thus far.”
While the season 1 finale premiered in cinemas with stars Abbas and Saleem in attendance, some fans expressed disappointment over its content. The episode, which aired on television later, was primarily a recap, leaving many disappointed. However, with Khan’s promise of two more seasons, fans eagerly anticipate the return of “Ishq Murshid” to their screens, ready to embark on new chapters of the beloved series.
