Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is set to commence post-Hajj flight operations starting May 9th and continuing until June 10, 2024.
As per the spokesperson, PIA will operate direct flights to Jeddah and Madina from eight Pakistani cities, including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Multan, Quetta, Sialkot, and Sukkur.
The spokesperson announced that PIA will facilitate approximately 34,000 pilgrims through 170 flights during this period.
Confirming details, the PIA representative stated that 19,000 pilgrims from the government scheme and 15,000 private pilgrims will be accommodated by the national airline.
Moreover, pilgrims traveling specifically from Karachi or Islamabad can benefit from Saudi immigration facilities at the airport through the Road to Mecca Project, thus avoiding long queues for immigration in Jeddah or Madina.
The spokesperson emphasized the importance of pilgrims registering their mobile numbers while booking tickets to receive timely flight updates.
