DI Khan: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa takes the lead in kick starting the wheat purchase campaign, setting the stage for a prosperous harvest season.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur inaugurated the initiative, signaling the government’s unwavering commitment to support local farmers.
Under the campaign, 3 lakh tonnes of wheat will be procured from farmers across the province, with an additional 3 lakh tonnes to be bought if needed.
CM Gandapur, accompanied by Provincial Food Minister Zahir Shah Toro, oversaw the commencement of operations at the provincial reserve center in DI Khan.
Emphasizing transparency and farmer welfare, CM Gandapur reiterated the government’s dedication to ensuring fair prices and seamless transactions. The purchase rate of 3900 rupees per 40 kg aims to provide farmers with their due share of prosperity.
Stringent measures have been put in place to uphold quality standards, with district-level committees and an online app facilitating transparent procurement processes. The initiative not only supports farmers but also injects 12 billion rupees into infrastructure development, benefitting communities across the region.
CM Gandapur commended the efforts of the food department team and urged farmers to adhere to government policies for transparent wheat transactions. He emphasized zero tolerance towards corruption, affirming strict action against any malpractice.
