CHINIOT: Two including a young girl were killed and 11 others injured as roof of a house collapsed due to heavy rain here, rescue sources said on Sunday.
Like many other cities of Punjab, heavy rain followed strong wind gusts lashed Chiniot resulting dilapidated roof of house in suburbs came down.
Two including a four-year-old girl were killed while 11 others were injured in the incident.
Rescue personnel and local people through joint efforts pulled out the bodies and injured from debris and shifted them to hospital.
Heavy rain turned the streets and markets of the city into pond and due to obsolete sewerage system, rain water entered into residential house, schools and mosques.
The rain also disrupted power supply system in major areas of Chiniot.
Meanwhile, two including a woman were killed and two others injured in separate road accidents in different localities of Rahim Yar Khan on Sunday, police said.
According to details, an over speeding mini-truck knocked down a motorcycle carrying a couple and their young son at National Highway near Chak No 86/P.
As a result of accident, Bushra Bibi 60, was killed on the spot while her husband Faqeer Hussain and 11-year-old son Saim were seriously injured.
An over speeding trailer driven by Ghulam Abbas ran over a pedestrian Khalil Ahmed 52, at Khurshidabad Adda Mohilabad. Both limbs of Khalil were detached crippling him for lifetime.
The bodies and injured were shifted to different hospitals and police after registering separate cases at respective police stations started investigations.
