Thousands of Afghan nationals repatriated from Pakistan amid ongoing efforts

ISLAMABAD: The repatriation of Afghan nationals from Pakistan has surged, reflecting concerted efforts to address illegal immigration. As of May 10, 2024, the total number of repatriated individuals has reached 567,554, with the process continuing unabated.

During the period spanning April 30 to May 10, a substantial number of 11,006 Afghans chose to return to their homeland, comprising 4,987 men, 3,214 women, and 2,805 children. This diverse demographic underscores the complexity of the repatriation efforts.

Among the recent repatriations, 487 families, traveling in 576 vehicles, have been facilitated in their return to Afghanistan. This logistical feat highlights the organized approach undertaken in the repatriation process.

Efforts to combat illegal immigration remain a focal point for both Pakistan and Afghanistan, with collaborative measures aimed at ensuring the safe and dignified return of individuals to their country of origin.
