IHC orders recovery of missing poet Ahmed Farhad Shah

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court on Wednesday ordered the recovery of missing poet Ahmed Farhad Shah and directed the police to present him in court tomorrow.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard a petition filed by Shah’s wife for his recovery. Lawyers Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha represented the petitioner.

SSP Operations Jameel Zafar appeared before the court during the session.

The court was told that Shah, a journalist and poet, has been missing from his Islamabad home since last night. A copy of the FIR was also presented in the court.

The police said they are checking nearby cameras to investigate the disappearance. Justice Kayani asked who was responsible for Shah’s disappearance and told the police to find him and bring him to court tomorrow.

The court also warned the police that if they fail to recover Shah, they will be held responsible. Justice Kayani adjourned the hearing till tomorrow.
