On Wednesday, a woman, namely Zainab Jamil, was shot by unknow assailants in an upscale neighborhood of Lahore. She was rushed to a local private hospital in critical condition where she received treatment.
The incident took place in Phase 5 DHA commercial area near J block park during the day. Zainab, who owns and runs a beauty salon by the name ‘Evolve by A&Z’, was exiting her establishment and walking towards her car when two unknown assailants approached her on a a motorcycle and open fired.
In a statement, Zainab, a former actress and model, suspects that her husband is behind the attack. She appealed to CM Punjab to help apprehend the assailants who fled the scene of the crime and are still on the run.
According to police sources, Zainab revealed that she had been receiving threats and believes the incident was orchestrated by her husband. The police have registered a case and initiated a search for the culprits.
The police have registered a case against two unknown attackers based on a complaint by Zainab’s uncle.Â
Zainab reportedly took six bullets, one of which hit her face. Disturbing and graphic video from the scene of the shooting show multiple people helping her to her car to be driven to a hospital.
