KP to receive Rs 25.83 billion grant from federal govt

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government is expected to receive a grant of Rs 25.83 billion from the federal government for the upcoming fiscal year, according to official documents.

This grant will be used to fund 34 projects in the province, including the Swat Expressway Phase-II, which will receive the largest share of Rs 10.71 billion for land acquisition.
Other projects that will receive funding include the Khyber Institute of Child Health in Peshawar, which will get Rs 2.84 billion, the Ten Billion Tree Tsunami Program Phase-I, which will receive Rs 2.16 billion, and the Choudhwan Zam Dam in D.I. Khan, which will get Rs 1.30 billion.

Additionally, smaller dams including Abbasi Band, Samandi, Dilawati Wand, and Tati Wand will receive Rs 1.21 billion, while the Tora Wari Dam in Hangu will get Rs 871 million. The Institute of Petroleum in Karak will receive Rs 871 million for its establishment, and the expansion of the Tanda Dam in Kohat will get Rs 719 million.

Other projects that will receive funding include Palai, and Kandol Dams, which will get Rs 692 million, the National Program for Improvement of Water Courses, which will receive Rs 522 million, and the Chashma Akora Khel Dam in Karak, will get Rs 518 million.

The federal government will also provide funding for various other projects, including the DHQ hospital in Malakand, which will receive Rs 438 million, the Trout Fish Hatchery, which will get Rs 174 million, and the Wheat Production Enhancement Program, which will receive Rs 118 million.

This grant, if received on time, will boost to the KP government’s development efforts and will help fund critical projects in the province.
