Asim Khan leads Pakistan to victory over India at Asian Squash Championship

In a pivotal match at the Asian Team Squash Championship in Dalian, China, Pakistan overcame India 2-1 on Friday, advancing to the semi-finals.

Asim Khan of Pakistan initiated a strong start by defeating Rahul Baitha from India with a score of 3-0.

The momentum briefly shifted when India’s Velavan Senthilkumar matched against Nasir Iqbal, winning 3-0. Iqbal, hindered by a fever, struggled to maintain his usual level of play, as confirmed by Pakistan’s coach Fahim Gul.

With the scores tied, Noor Zaman of Pakistan showcased a stellar performance, securing a 3-0 victory over Suraj Kumar Chand and ensuring Pakistan’s progression to the next stage.

Next, Pakistan is set to compete against Hong Kong, who recently secured a win over Iran.

Coach Gul expressed optimism about Pakistan’s performance and anticipates continued success in the forthcoming matches.

Pakistan had previously demonstrated strong form in Pool C, remaining undefeated against teams from South Korea, Chinese Taipei, and China, securing victories against Taipei and Korea on the first day and concluding with a victory over China.
