Both parties ‘reconcile’ as accused chops off camel’s leg

SANGHAR: Police in a suburban village of Sanghar arrested the man on suspicion of severing the legs of a camel who entered his fields, reported on Saturday. However, PPP MNA Shazia Marri later told that both the parties had reconciled over the matter.

Police said that the incident took place in village Nando Khan Shar in the jurisdiction of Mangli police station.

On the other hand, Soomer Khan, owner of the camel, appeared before the media along with his camel to show the atrocity committed against the animal. “I have no enmity with anyone. I don’t know why this was done to my camel,” he said.

Later, Shazia Marri took to social media blogging site, X, and told that both parties had reconciled.

“Yes Mir Sb action was taken as soon as I learnt about this horrible & painful incident. Police arrested people & registered an FIR. Have learnt that both sides have compromised. While the police is still doing its work, proper medical treatment is being provided to the poor animal,” wrote Shazia Marri in response to a tweet posted by journalist Hamid Mir who asked Ms Marri to take action against the accused who chopped off the leg of the camel.

However, people strongly reacted to Marri’s post, blaming Sindh government and Pakistan Peoples Party for remaining silent over the criminal act against the poor animal.
