Karachi’s man killed on resistance, Lahore’s siblings die of food poisoning

KARACHI/LAHORE: Robbers and muggers continued to rule Karachi’s streets, killing a man and injuring his son for resisting robbery in the Korangi Coast Guard Chowrangi area while two elderly siblings died of food poisoning in Lahore, the police confirmed on Thursday.

According to police, robbers shot dead Zafar and injured his son Wahab when they put up resistance during a robbery at an LPG decanting shop at Korangi Coast Guard Chowrangi.

The police said that injured Wahab managed to seize a pistol from one of the robbers and fired at them, leaving the fleeing robbers with gunshot wounds.

Later, the injured robbers went to Jinnah Hospital for treatment, where the injured Wahab recognised them, leading to their arrest. The robbers were identified as Qadir and Ehtisham.

The injured Abdul Wahab informed the police that they work in the LPG business and that their shop had been robbed three times before. When three robbers came to the shop this time, he recognized them.

Wahab recounted that when the robbers shot his father, he snatched the pistol from one of them and shot both robbers, injuring them. He sustained two gunshot wounds from the robbers. The robbers were residents of Bengali Para.

He demanded justice, stating that he witnessed his father’s murder.

Elderly siblings die of food poisoning

Meanwhile, two elderly siblings aged 70 and 75 died of food poisoning in Lahore.

According to police, the initial post-mortem report suggested that the siblings found dead in their house in Ghalib Market died of food poisoning.

The police said that samples of the deceased siblings bodies had been sent for forensic examination to conduct further investigation.

The police said that 70-year-old Hamid and his 75-year-old sister, Saima, were found dead in their house in Gulberg’s Ghalib Market’s Canal Park area. The elderly man was found dead in the courtyard of their house while his sister’s dead body was recovered from a room.

Meanwhile, the police also registered a case against unknown individuals based on the statement of the deceased siblings’ brother, Babar.

The police said that further investigations are underway.
